This once-in-a-lifetime evening will see the joining of mega-talented award-winning young German jazz musicians fresh from the Zelt festival in southern Germany, with some of their American jazz and folk counterparts including clarinetist Perry Robinson, folk and songwriting artists Jacob and David Bernz, super guitarist Andy Stack, percussionist extraordinaire Jeff Haynes, guitar duo Lyndon and David Achee and master jazz guitarist Christophe Assier.
Organized by festival directer Alex Heisler, these young German musicians hail from the same area where Beacon’s own Pete Seeger family traces its roots, and where American folk artists were invited in 1998 to do Seeger tributes. Now re-uniting in Beacon as part of a three-stop tour which includes NYC and Trinidad, this evening, their first stop in the USA, will be energetic and different and uplifting as the various styles combine into something new and wonderful. Proceeds from the evening will support the remainder of the tour. So come on out and be part of something special!
German Musicians, featuring the ZMF Allstars, including several who won the Magnetband award of the prestigious Down Beat Magazine, include: Ingo Hipp (sax), Werner Englert (sax), Lou Lecaude (trombone), Emanuel Teschke (bass), Veronika Rauch (vocals), Jom Maikranz (guitar), Sebastian Heidepriem (piano), Ro Kuijpers (percussion), Frederik Heisler (drums) and, just to make it a 3-generation project, 11-year-old Jannik Heidepriem (drums).
