The Falcon Underground presents monthly JAZZ SESSIONS hosted by internationally in-demand bassist, Doug Weiss. Doug will be inviting world renowed jazz artists to The Falcon’s warm and intimate pub-in-progress, one floor down from our world class live music stage. Stay posted for some extraordinary line-ups!

Bassist, Doug Weiss has toured Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States with a wide variety of discerning musical luminaries; Toshiko Akiyoshi, Mose Allison, Marc Copland, Kenny Drew Jr, Al Foster, Billy Hart, Fred Hersch, Clifford Jordan, Lee Konitz and Joe Williams.
Weiss recorded the first of two critically acclaimed Blue Note records under the leadership of pianist Kevin Hays. His relationship with Kevin, both intuitive and visceral, continues to the present with 10 recordings and many appearances in the US and abroad.
His association with legendary drummer Al Foster, led to world tours, 1000 concerts and 2 recording to date.
Doug was tapped by drummer and producer Brian Blade to record Lizz Wrights’ critically acclaimed debut album “Salt” (Verve) and toured extensively in support of that project. He also toured Europe and played the Village Vanguard with Brian Blade and the Fellowship band.
He also performs with guitarist Peter Bernstein’s “Monk” project, whose CD “Monk” was released in 2008 on Xanadu.
