JB’s Go-Go Boogaloo Dance Party!

November 24, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Urban Dictionary definitions to get you ready for a Go-Go Boogaloo Dance Party!:

“Get down with the get down” : go to an event where there is dancing, and start dancing.

“Boogaloo” : a genre of Latino popular music, especially of 1960s NYC, with R&B and soul influences : a dance performed to boogaloo music.

“Go-go dancers” : Ladies who dance to hype up and entertain the crowd at clubs. Many people think Go-go dancing is easy, but it’s like any other type of dance which requires skill and is much different than just partying with your girls on the dance floor. Go-go’s often wear covers over their boots, called “fluffies”, and fishnet tights.

Featuring:

Falcon favorite Jeremy Baum plays the Hammond Organ, piano and leads his trio, which
is rooted in the blues and funky soul-jazz sounds of the late 60s. His style is also informed by the current masters of the groove from the jam-band scene. Jeremy has been a successful sideman, working with Shemekia Copeland, Levon Helm, soul-jazz legend Melvin Sparks, and many more.
Look out for his album “The Eel”, featuring funky, bluesy compositions as well as original arrangements of songs by Beck, Prince, James Brown and more.
