Jesse Royal in Woodstock

July 7, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Jesse David LeRoi Grey aka Jesse Royal is widely revered as a popular artiste among the young conscious movement otherwise considered as the ‘Reggae Revival’.

As a young lion, Jesse was destined for success based strictly off of his deep spirituality, love for life and most importantly his appreciation for music. His natural ability to express his thoughts and relate them to those he was around along with his distinctive voice is what inevitably led him to be a reggae favourite. Born April 29th, 1989, Jesse grew up in the hills of Maroon Town and Orange district in St. James before moving to join his Father in Kingston, Jamaica.

It was soon after that Royal would befriend the son of Ziggy Marley, Daniel ‘Bambaata’ Marley, through their mutual admiration for football and music. Their friendship grew stronger as they both explored their undeniable passion for music. Knowing that this was destined to manifest, Jesse was determined to create a sound that would inspire and unite people from all over;
this you can tell by his obvious militant demeanour.

Having made a name for himself from America to Africa, Jesse Royal is fulfilling what was made known from a young age. His lyrics are being used as reference by the most recent wave of conscious youths, inspiring those to connect to their African roots and also to do well onto one another. Meanwhile showing appreciation for The Plant through addicting melodies about ganja, attracting a wider audience who can’t help but relate. Jesse’s songs range from spirituality to love and with every song he sings he’s always able to make a special connection with his audience local and
abroad.
