Composer, multi instrumentalist and vocalist, Malcolm Bruce, has created for the theatre, media, for children, and orchestral concerts.From the beginning, Malcolm was immersed in music, attending the Guildhall School of Music and performing professionally since the age of sixteen.
Over the years, he performed with his father Jack Bruce (Cream), appearing on a number of Jack’s recordings, including ‘Shadows in the Air’ (2001) and ‘More Jack than God’ (2003) both recorded in NYC, (with performances by Eric Clapton, Dr. John, and Horacio Hernandez).
Recently, as musical director, Malcolm joined numerous celebrated artists and musicians in ‘An Evening For Jack’ – a three-hour concert celebrating the life and music of Jack Bruce, at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Bruce’s live work has included tours with Leslie West and Corky Laing (Mountain), Joe Satriani, Ned Evett’s Triple Double, and a special Jimi Hendrix Birthday tribute at BB King’s NYC with Eric Schenkman (Spin Doctors) and Corky Laing. He played piano for poet / Cream lyricist Pete Brown in Prague and Bratislava,and a CD release event for Czech star Miro Zbirka’s album recorded at Abbey Road. Malcolm played a headline show at The Cutting Room NYC, with a band consisting of guitarist David Malachowski (Antony Rapp, Mamma Mia, Shania Twain), and the cream of the crop of Broadway musicians including drummer Gary Seligson (Rent, School of Rock).
