Marty Willson-Piper is best known for his tenure as a lead guitarist, singer/songwriter and occasional bass player, with disparate acts – the church, All About Eve and The Saints, covering Psychedelia, Goth and Punk with ease. As a songwriter he has written songs for and with Charlie Sexton – Bob Dylan’s guitarist, Aimee Mann, Jules Shear, Linda Perry and Grace Slick from the seminal ‘60s band Jefferson Airplane.
Brought up close to Liverpool in England his influences have made him a prolific writer where he has covered even more genres with a slew of solo albums as lead singer and as guitarist and singer/lyricist with other eclectic projects including four albums with English project Noctorum and long time collaborator Dare Mason. Two albums with MOAT, a collaboration with German/Swedish composer Niko Röhlcke (a member of one of Sweden’s biggest bands Weeping Willows) and staying in Sweden, he has also become a member of legendary Swedish Progressive band Anekdoten as a guitarist, touring with them all over Europe, Japan and even Armenia.
He keeps informed as to contemporary music as well as being an authoritative music historian. Marty penned 40,000 words of sleeve notes for the re-releases on CD of the church EMI catalogue as well as curating the Newspaper Taxi website where musicians wrote reviews of their favourite albums. He has returned to writing with his In Deep Music Archive website where he covers an eclectic range of thoughtful musical essays.The In Deep Music Archive is widely acknowledged as one of the planet’s biggest personal record collections, ranging from Classical music to Jazz, Punk, Prog, Pop, Funk, Soul, R&B and Electronic sounds, with an ultimate goal of preserving the collection for posterity as an archive of music history.
He has also worked as a radio DJ in New York City and teaches songwriting and guitar through his website. Most recently he has performed all over the world with his own band featuring interchangeable line ups. This latest fascinating incarnation features his German wife Olivia on violin and long time bassist and New York resident Hannah Moorhead, with guitarist, harmonist and namesake Don Piper.
He performs an eclectic collection of songs from all aspects of his long history that invites all music lovers to experience Marty as a singer, a songwriter, a guitar player and a storyteller.

Over the past decade, Edward Rogers has been extremely prolific, releasing seven solo albums and two with Bedsit Poets, a Folk/Brit-inspired trio whose name was given to them by The Zombies’ Colin
Blunstone. Rogers released his seventh solo album, TV Generation, via Zip Records in June 2017. In the gritty tradition of Nick Cave, Kevin Ayers and Ray Davies, TV Generation pairs Rogers’ authentic and reflective lyricism with his powerful melodic voice creating an album that is grounded in Britpop and Britfolk. A veritable who’s who of seminal, established artists, he was joined in the studio by several talented musicians that have been well established in their genre for decades, including the album’s producer Don Piper (Syd Straw). James Mastro (Ian Hunter), Sal Maida (Roxy Music, Cracker), Dennis Diken (Smithereens), Geoff Blythe (Dexys, Black 47, Elvis Costello), Marty Willson-Piper (The Church), Jane Scarpantoni (Lou Reed) and more!
TV Generation kicks off with the title track that resonates with an electric (and at times psychedelic) throwback to the late 70’s – leading into Rogers’ nostalgic and heartfelt tribute to fallen icons. The third track “No Words” slips gently into a David Bowie-esque ballad theatrical and sober with an emotional force behind Edward’s vocals. “On This Wednesday In June” brings the emotional and almost conversational tone of Lou Reed, building into an explosive anthem, while “You and I” brings the record into an intimate light ending in the comfort of a light timpani and Beatles-inspired mellotron. TV Generation ends on the driving fire of “She’s The One” stacking up the energy of the album and leaving you wanting more.
Born in Birmingham, England where he spent the first 12 years of his life, Rogers moved to New York City just as the British Invasion began in the States. He started his career behind the drum kit, which he played in several garage bands. When a subway accident in October 1985 left him without his right arm and right leg below the knee, he turned to songwriting. As he developed his writing talents, Edward found he enjoyed singing and writing more rewarding than playing drums. Over the past decade, he has released seven solo albums. UK’s Shindig! Magazine, said his latest, TV
Generation, “is one steeped in classic British rock influences…dominated by Edward’s way with a tune and pleasingly Anglophile presentation.”
Rogers has played extensively in New York, and the east coast, Los Angeles, Canada, Sweden, the UK and Ireland, both as a solo artist and with Bedsit Poets. In addition to his fruitful songwriting career, Rogers co-produced 20 shows for the extremely successful series “The Beat Goes On” at NYC’s The Bottom Line. He has co-hosted the Irish Rock Revue for several years, at well-respected venues such as The Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall, Highline Ballroom and Outdoors at Lincoln Center. In October 2017, Rogers co-produced, co-hosted and performed at “Marc Bolan & T. Rex 40 th Anniversary NYC” a two-night, sold-out celebration presented at one of NYC’s premier venues, City Winery.
