Jazz, Blues! Swing! Kick-Ass Back-Beats…. These are a few of Michael Hollis’ favorite things when expressing himself through the idiom of Jazz. His trio is named Mortet and is inspired by such legends as Wes Montgomery, John Scofield, and Bill Frisell. Hollis draws from a largely dynamic portfolio when performing — original compositions and classics drawn from the Great American Songbook. Hollis brings his versatility to the table, crafting a sound that is uniquely his own. Here’s what our friend Tony Falco at The Falcon says about Michael Hollis: “Michael Hollis is one of the Young Jazz Guitar Lions that guitar great, Mark Dziuba, has set loose into the Hudson Valley and beyond” -Tony Falco (The Falcon/Marlboro, NY). Mortet is: Michael Hollis – Guitar, James O’Keeffe – Bass, Michael Kadnar – Drums.
