Mr. Gone is an ensemble exploring the groove based music of early electric jazz (fusion), focusing on the music of Weather Report and Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters & Mwandishi bands. Referencing the origins of the jam band movement, they connect the past with the future, embracing modern styles like drum ‘n bass, Trance & Jungle. Performing in concert venues, educational institutions & Festivals, this electric jazz ensemble opens a window on the historical significance and influence of this exciting music.

Featuring four extraordinary composers, improvisers and performers, with a combined musical experience of 200 + years:

Keyboardist/composer, Neil Alexander, remains passionately involved in production, live sound, musical theater, modern dance and film. He recently released his first solo piano CD “Darn That Dream: Solo Piano Vol. 1” to critical acclaim. He has worked with variety of artists such as Gunther Hampel, Tal Ross (P-Funk), Erik Lawrence, and The Adaptors Movement Theater, held the keyboard chair in Gregg Bendian’s “Mahavishnu Project”, and in the successful Pink Floyd Tribute “The Machine“, where he was a driving force in the group’s sound and subsequent success. Neil recently completed a two year solo piano tour performing his transcription of Stravinsky’s “Rite Of Spring” for its 100th anniversary.

Peter Furlan (Saxes)

Saxophonist, composer, arranger and educator, Peter Furlan, has performed and recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Thomas Chapin, Don Alias, Frank Foster, Steven Bernstein, Mahavishnu Project, The Temptations, and 10,000 Maniacs, among others. He leads The Peter Furlan Project, Peter Furlan Trio & Quintet, and with Neil Alexander, Le Jazz Electronique and Mr. Gone.

Ratzo Harris (Bass)

Bassist & composer Ratzo Harris has been a major force on the international jazz scene since 1974, having played with Denny Zeitlin Trio, the Janet Lawson Quintet, the Kenny Werner Trio, Jane Ira Bloom, Mose Allison, Mike Nock, Joe Lovano, Judi Silvano, and many others.

Richie Morales (Drums)

Born in NYC, Richie Morales is a versatile player who has performed and recorded with a wide range of contemporary artists such as The Brecker Brothers, Spyro Gyra, Grover Washington Jr., Al DiMeola, Stevie Wonder, Carly Simon, Dianne Reeves, guitarist Mike Stern saxophonist Bill Evans, bassist Victor Bailey, Michael Franks, George Russell’s Living Time Orchestra, Grammy award winning vibraphonist Dave Samuels, Gato Barbieri, Dave Valentin, Ray Barretto, and Herbie Mann.He also leads his own group performing a mixture of Jazz standards and original music.

Richie has been a member of the jazz faculty at Purchase College Conservatory of Music SUNY since 2000. He has also taught at the Juilliard School’s Music Advancement Program.
