SUMMARY:New Revolution Arts 21: Michael Foster's The Ghost & Yes Deer
DESCRIPTION:This month’s concert features some great artists. Please come check it out! \nFriday\, June 10\n8 pm–Michael Foster’s The Ghost with Henry Fraser\, Connor Baker\n9 pm–Yes Deer \n$10 suggested donation\nAll proceeds go to the artists \nNew Revolution Arts\n7 Stanhope Street\nBrooklyn (Bushwick)\nJ/M/L Trains\nMany Buses \nMORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS: \nTHE GHOST \nThe Ghost is an electro-acoustic trio frantically falling somewhere between noise and a Queer Free Jazz trio. We work to create dynamic\, long form pieces obsessively influenced by Jean Genet. Our first tape\, “The Hole\,” will be released this summer on the UK-based Tombed Visions Records. \nMichael Foster: saxophones\, tapes\, amplified objects\nHenry Fraser: double bass\, tapes\nConnor Baker: percussion \nYES DEER \nYes Deer: yes deer makes music through physical and intellectual rituals. we are\, as a band\, engaged in the friction between intellect and libido\, pre and post\, and collectivism and individualism. the sound can be described as a massive cacophony of writhing textures\, manic hammering and distorted screeching\, or as the sound of enthusiastic despair. \nwe started the band in 2010 and since then we have been touring in scandinavia and in europe. our first album\, ‘the talk of tennis’ was released on gaffer records on may 1st 2014\, and now we have our second album\, “get your glitter jacket” out as a joined release by insula music and gaffer records. \n
