Roger Ball -saxophone, John Bailey- trumpet, Nick Bariluk -piano, Rich Zurkowski- bass, Hans Broecking- drums
Average White Band founding member and saxophonist Roger Ball brings a smoking band for an evening of classic jazz and a little get-down funk.
A native of Scotland, Roger Ball has worked with artists from Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan to Roxy Music. “Cut the Cake” and “Pick up the Pieces,” two of the biggest funk hits of all time, were co-written by Roger with AWB. He is also a keen jazz fan inspired by Cannonball Adderly, Horace Silver, and Dexter Gordon.
Grammy-winning trumpet player John Bailey comes in from New York. He has worked with Ray Charles, Gloria Estefan, The Woody Herman Orchestra, The Buddy Rich Band, James Moody, Kenny Burrell, Joe Lovano, and six years with Latin-jazz great Ray Barretto.
