SUMMARY:Split Bill: Mad Satta
DESCRIPTION:http://www.madsatta.com\nNew York\, future-soul band\, Mad Satta and its eight members\, strive for original\, positive\, eclectic\, thoughtful music to a wide array of listeners. This ultra-tight\, outfit is held down by edgy bass lines and a sophisticated mix of guitar\, organ\, drums and horns that surround and support the powerful\, smoky vocals of front woman Joanna Teters\, increasingly recognized for her ability to switch effortlessly from lush\, deeply sultry tones to rugged reggae.\nFrom Yoshi’s (Oakland\, CA) to the Blue Note (NYC)\, Mad Satta serves its audiences with playful\, energetic performances of original compositions and unique covers honoring the greats\, such as Curtis Mayfield and Amy Winehouse.\nMad Satta has shared the stage with some notable musicians and musical acts— Ozomatli\, Afrika Bambaataa\, Gabriel Garzon-Montano and The Stepkids to name a few. They are also alumni of the esteemed ZooLabs in Oakland.\nTheir debut album Comfort\, was produced by triple Grammy-winner Prince Charles Alexander. \n“Reach Out”\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrsZP4XNYO0 \n“Makings of You”\nhttp://youtu.be/wRbYrlXyJGI \n
