Hosted by Andy Follette and the Bluescasters
The evening reunites the many friends and fine musicians who gathered and performed at the legendary Sunday Night Blues Bash at The Sidetracked club on Parker Avenue, Poughkeepsie NY during the late 80’s and 90″s. Numerous local and regional blues performers cut their teeth at this jam – Pete Kanaras,Chrs O’Leary, Chrissie O’Dell, Slam Allen, Willa McCarthy-Vincetore, Petey Hop, Pat O’Shea, Scotty Mac, Ted Hennessey, and Little Sammy Davis, among others!
The Bluescasters have been leaving an impression on blues enthusiasts in Dutchess County NY and its environs for decades. This smokin’ Poughkeepsie-based blues trio whose driving rhythm, soulful guitar and vocals gets crowds on their feet! They have nurtured local talent and had the great fortune to host real legends, such as Lowell Fulson, Carey Bell and Hubert Sumlin.
The band has opened for notables The Fabulous Thunderbirds, South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and even Chuck Berry, playing venues throughout the tri-state area and New York’s Capital District, for over 20 years.
Big Joe Fitz, host of the “Blues Break” on Radio Woodstock WDST (100.1), has been praising the accomplishments of this band for many years!
