Tony Trischka; also Out to Lunch

November 12, 2016 @ 8:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Tickets $20 advance, $25 door

Tony Trischka is considered to be the consummate banjo artist and perhaps the most influential banjo player in the roots music world. For more than 45 years, his stylings have inspired a whole generation of bluegrass and acoustic musicians with the many voices he has brought to the instrument.

Tony is not only considered among the most innovative of banjo players, he is one of its most respected and sought-after instructors, creating 15 instructional books as well as a series of DVDs. In 2009, he launched the groundbreaking Tony Trischka School of Banjo, an advanced, interactive, online instructional site that is the banjo home for students from around the world.

If you know the history of The Towne Crier, then you know of Out to Lunch (OTL). Perennial Towne Crier favorites, this will be their first performance in Beacon. OTL has been pushing the boundaries of acoustic music for more than 35 years. Whether progressive bluegrass, swing, Celtic or jazz, OTL delivers a rousing, high-energy performance. They are Susan Sassano, Wayne Fugate, Howie Bujese, Michael Sassano, Larry Cohen and Joe Selly. Don’t miss this rare appearance.
