Legendary keyboardist Bruce Katz has released seven CDs as a leader and appeared on nearly seventy other recordings with John Hammond, Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, Little Milton, Delbert McClinton, Jimmy Witherspoon, David “Fathead” Newman, and others.
The Bruce Katz Band’s trademark sound blends B3 organ and guitar into “blues-soul-jazz”, and New Orleans-inspired roots music – occupying a unique space, where blues and Americana collide.

Bruce, continues to play with John Hammond and the Allman Brothers’ founding drummer, Butch Trucks, in two of his side projects, The Freight Train Band and Les Brers.
In 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2015, Bruce was nominated by the Memphis-based Blues Foundation (the Blues equivalent of the Grammy Awards) as their “Piano Player of the Year”!

His newest CD, “HOMECOMING” (American Showplace Music) released in October, 2014, explores his wide ranging scope of blues musics, and features his band as well as special guests John Hammond, Randy Ciarlante, Jimmy Bennett and others.

“He can play jazz, blues, Bach, anything. Man, he’s a heavy!” – Gregg Allman
