Formed in 1991 in New York City, all the members are originally from Ohio, and the band takes its name from a catch phrase used by the late, great Ghoulardi (Ernie Anderson) – host of Cleveland’s Fright Night/Creature Feature TV show in the 1960s – “Turn blue you purple k’nif!” (The “K” is hard and k’niF is Fink spelled backwards).

Tunes by Purple k’niF, plus The Atlantics, The Bel-Airs, The Champs, Dick Dale, Duane Eddy, The Raybeats, The Shadows, The Ventures, Link Wray and more! No CD’s, no web site, no MySpace, no records, no merchandise, no vocals! Just a night of hard-driving instrumental guitar rock: “The most fun you can have with your clothes on!”
