Join us in celebrating the 125th birthday of our founder, Henry Morgenthau Jr. Like any good birthday party, we’ll have lots of music, food and drinks! Come for tastings of local food and beverages, great music, horse-drawn haywagon rides, a pig roast, and games the whole family can enjoy.
We’re excited to share Fishkill Farms’ long and storied history with you. Henry Morgenthau became FDR’s advisor and Secretary of the Treasury, but he was a Dutchess County farmer long before he was a statesman. The festival will revolve around an exhibition of never-before-seen historic memorabilia: original war bonds posters, playful and teasing letters between FDR and Morgenthau, and stunning photographs from the Morgenthau family and the FDR Library Archives.
Most exciting, we’re screening exclusive home videos shot between 1933 and 1942, including footage of a crucial wartime meeting between Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt that took place here at Fishkill Farms.
Like any good birthday party, we’ll have lots of music, food and drinks! We’ll have some swingin’ jazz from a live band (band TBD).
Horse-drawn Wagon Rides
These unique, old-fashioned trips with real draft horses will be given around the orchard for the duration event.
Celebrate the unique food heritage of the Hudson Valley with tastings of wine, spirits, cheeses and other artisan products hand-crafted by local producers in the Hudson Valley.
We’re roasting a whole locally-raised pig, so get hungry and be prepared for crackling, juicy pork, and we’ll also have our house jerk chicken, hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers and corn.
Kid’s crafts and workshop in the barn and our new cornhole games out on the lawn will be fun for the whole family.
