The Big Takeover
Whether live or recorded, the Big Takeover never fails to captivate an audience. Using a fusion of their own innovative originals with crowd favorites, they have kept audiences jamming from the first note to the last since their debut in 2007. Fronted by Jamaican-born singer & songwriter Neenee Rushie, the band is backed by a skin-tight rhythm section- and a two-piece horn section whose parts radiate somewhat of a classic edge in soaring leads. The band has performed well over 500 shows, sharing the stage with acts such as: The Original Wailers, Jefferson Starship, Sam Kinninger of Soulive, Inner Circle, Pete Seeger, Badfish, Taurrus Riley, The Meditations, Eek-a-Mouse, Groundation and West Bound Train, Norma Fraiser, The Pietasters, Tarrus Riley, Innervisions, Sister Nancy, and Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus of Dreams- to name a few. Having three full-length records under their belt- the band continues to seek out & expand to new audiences and introduce them to their versatile & soulful brand of flavor. The band is currently in the studio working on their fourth full-length record, with plans to be touring nationally upon its’ release.
