Each month, Tribes Hill and EMBARK|PEEKSKILL present the best in regional indie folk. This month’s line-up features some amazing young talent.
Kirsten Maxwell – “a voice as angelic and mesmerizing as…Joan Baez” – Jon Stein, WTBQ
Owl & Wolf – “…sultry melodies and harmonies create a sound that can be described as Dark Folk”
Pluck & Rail – “gritty songwriting, tight vocal melodies and soaring cello runs” “…bittersweet…”, New York Times
Jacob Weingast – “songwriter…influenced by people like Jonathan Richman, Hank Williams, and Nick Drake”
The series is held at The Flatz, a beautifully eco-restored building with exposed brick, hardwood floors, plenty of parking and a wonderful cafe, Big Bang Coffee Roasters.
This series is supported by the generosity of an ArtsWestchester ArtsAlive grant.
