Estalished in 1992 as The Milford Community Band under the direction of founders Julia Gerace and Sheila Sardi, the band has grown steadily over the years. In 1996, Ms. Gerace presented the baton to Steven L. Saunders and the group became known as The Milford Concert Band. In the spring of 2014, longtime band member Duane Berge of Trumbull Music Studios assumed the role of conductor and musical director.

Today, The Milford Concert Band, Inc comprises of musicians from the greater Milford, CT area, ranging in age from high school students to retirees. Amateur and semi-professional alike, the 35+ volunteer members share an appreciation for music and a desire to entertain. Musicians span a spectrum of backgrounds including educators, doctors, students, executives, retired musicians, city historians and small-business owners.

Playing in the band has enabled numerous area residents to perform music for the community at large and for audiences that otherwise would be unable to experience it. Members may come and go over the years, but one thing is constant: a commitment to music.
