Robert Kopec’s bigBANG Big Band to Play Quinn’s — Sunday, 8/6 at 8 PM

(July 17, 2017) – One of the premier big bands in the Hudson Valley, the bigBANG led by bassist Robert Kopec, makes its first appearance at Quinn’s on Sunday, August 6 at 8 PM. A $10 donation towards the musicians is requested. Quinn’s is located at 330 Main St. in Beacon, NY and their telephone number is (845) 202-7447.

Regularly performing with a variety of major artists locally and internationally, Robert Kopec has long been recognized as one of the finest bassists in the Hudson Valley. His bigBANG has held a long-standing monthly residency at the legendary Falcon in Marlboro, NY. For this first concert at Quinn’s, Kopec has gathered some of the finest musicians in the region, whose past associations include such renowned big bands as those led by Thad Jones and Mel Lewis, Buddy Rich and Maria Schneider, among many others. They will be performing original arrangements of works by such jazz composers as Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, as well as original compositions by the bandmembers The lineup for bigBANG on 8/6 includes:
