Genre: Rock & Roll
The seeds for the formation of FOUR BY FATE were planted some 30 years ago, when GRAMMY® Award winning bassist/songwriter John Regan encountered vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter Tod Howarth (Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, and Frehley’s Comet) while Howarth was on tour performing with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s Cheap Trick.
Howarth and Regan, whose robust resume includes touring with Ace Frehley’s Comet, Peter Frampton, Stephen Stills, and John Waite, as well as recording credits with the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, David Lee Roth, Robin Trower, and Billy Idol, were later joined by guitarist/songwriter Patrick James Gasperini (Pound, Flywheel) and former Skid Row drummer Rob Affuso. Together, their album Relentless will be released June 3, 2016 via The End Records (via Amazing Records in Europe).
Adding further rock pedigree, other contributors to the FOUR BY FATE story include Stet Howland (drummer for WASP), Sean Kelly (guitarist for Helix and Nelly Furtado) and celebrated Twisted Sister drummer AJ Pero, who recorded six tracks on the album before his untimely passing in 2015. The drum tracks that Pero recorded for Relentless are thought to be his last recordings.
TOD HOWARTH –
Tod Howarth (born September 24, 1957) is an American Rock N Roll musician from San Diego, CA. Best known as the vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist for the short-lived band Frehleys Cometled by former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley. Frehley’s Comet recorded three albums and produced four videos before the lineup dissolved and Ace Frehley moved on to his solo effort.
Howarth’s music career began in the early 1980s with hard rockers 707 . He has also performed with Cheap Trick and Ted Nugent and released four solo albums, the first in 1995. He also provided background vocals for Nugent’s Penetrator album in 1984, and Loudness’ album Hurricane Eyes in 1987.
Howarth joined Cheap Trick again in 2008; at the 30th anniversary 2008 Budokan show, he was seen on stage playing the keyboard and supplying backing vocals. He was originally scheduled to participate in the 2008 Journey Heart Cheap tour, but budget restrictions caused him to be unable to participate.
On December 14, 2008 he released an acoustic version of the Frehley’s Comet classic “Time Ain’t Runnin’ Out” exclusively on his Myspace page.
JOHN REGAN

He has also recorded and performed with Peter Frampton 1979 til currently, John Waite, The Rolling Stones, Stephen Stills, Dave Edmunds, Robin Trower, Scandal, Billy Idol and David Lee Roth.
ROB AFFUSO
You may know Rob best as the drummer from Skid Row, the immensely popular rock band during the 1980’s and 90’s. Not the graduate from NYU specializing in marketing and PR. Skid Row delivered the first rock album in history to debut as the number one album in America, selling over 22 million albums worldwide. Skid Row also had four Billboard Top 100 songs including two in the top three on the charts and seven number one videos, including the longest running number one video of MTV’s history at the time. Skid Row was the recipient of the AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS “Best New Artist” award. Affuso says “I am blessed that touring with Skid Row took me to every remote corner of the globe for 10 years….and got PAID!” As they did! Performing on mega tours with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Guns-N-Roses, Motley Crue and Metallica selling out arena’s and stadiums worldwide.
Rob has also recorded albums with various members of Guns-n-Roses to include Duff McKagan’s, 1993 “Believe In Me” album laying down the groove for “F@*K You” and “Swamp Song” with Jeff Beck on guitar, as well as Gilbey Clarke’s debut album, “Pawnshop Guitars” in 1994, performing a cover of the Stone’s “Dead Flowers.”
In 2009, Rob was called upon to join actor, Jill Hennessey (Law & Order, Crossing Jordan, The Good Wife, Madame Secretary) to record her debut album, “Ghost In My Head” with members of the Dixie Chicks, R.E.M, Alejandro Escovedo and Joe Ely.
A lover of ALL music styles, Rob was once heard lamenting “playing the same style music all of the time is like eating steak for dinner every night!” It was with this passion that Rob began touring the country giving instructional performance concerts on drumming and has been featured in many drumming and musician magazines including Modern Drummer, Rhythm and Rolling Stone.
During this time off from touring, Rob also formed the 12 piece SOULSYSTEM Band. SOULSYSTEM allowed him to perform many of his favorite old school soul, R&B, Motown and swing/big band classics to feed his soul that hungered for the diversity as well as develop new drumming techniques and skills. By the time Skid Row disbanded in 1998, the SOULSYSTEM band’s success in corporate and private entertainment had parlayed itself into the highly regarded entertainment company, SOULSYSTEM ORCHESTRAS Music & Production (SSO), based in New York, NY. SOULSYSTEM and the ensuing company SSO continues to provide world-class private entertainment and event production around the country and world today.
In April of 2015, Rob was asked by old friends Pat Gasperini, and former Frehley’s Comet, Peter Frampton bassist, John Regan, to join the ranks of FOUR BY FATE along with Frehley’s Comet cohort and lead vocalist Tod Howarth. Rob says of the union, “It was truly inspiring to come into a room full of smiles and good energy and play powerful rock-n-roll music again!”
